Q mini box issue with starting from standby

From start up mini box constantly in effect acts like it's just been installed.  All this since TV has been replaced.

Hi @RJW68 


Try a Reset Settings in the mini box hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.


After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
Press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.

Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.

Are all your boxes in the same standby mode and are you using your Q box in the early hours?

Haven't check software assuming that updates are automatically done.  Main q box is on standby when the issues occurs as my partner is the one that likes TV in the morningfro her room where the mini box is.

Hi issue occurred on return from short break when mini box was turned on in afternoon.  Main box was off so must dispell 5.45 am myth.  However, software was out of date and I changed both boxes standby to none.  Let's see what happens.

Hi @RJW68  Try resetting the Mini box:-

Switch the Sky Q Mini box off at the mains. Hold down the Reset button on the back of the Sky Q Mini box and switch it back on at the mains. Keep holding it until the light on the front flashes red and green. This will take about 30 seconds.

Unit went through the motions of a software update but it's stayed at same version.

Tried both methods if reset, NADA, nothing.  It still does the same thing each time no matter what time if day unit us switched on.

The software update will go through the motions even if you're on the latest version. It's crazy - every other device in the world will tell you if you're on the latest and won't waste your time! 

 

Is this issue every single time you switch the mini on from standby, and not from the mains?

Yes, but my question was: are you turning on from standby or from the mains?

With respect I wouldn't be posting as a problem if I was turning units off from the mains.  Both boxes are left on standby.
