Q getting too expensive?

Just spent last half hour talking with customer services currently paying 22.50 pm on an 18 month contract which expires in September we have signature with multiroom and have mini box within the contract. 

Its going up to 28.00 pm and ill be out of contract, advisor told me if I wanted a new contract would be around 40.00 pm! 

I'm thinking of ditching sky now and investing in a freeview recorder...

Am I getting a good deal at 28.00 pm? I know the Q is a good system but just feels like a big jump and I might have caught the advisor on a bad day 🙄

The subscription cost isn't for Q: it's for the channel bundle.  If you had Sky+ you'd be looking at the same rise after the end of the initial discounted period.  £28 pcm for even a basic bundle plus Multiscreen would seem pretty good to me.
