Re: Playlist refresh now live.

@Anonymous

Part Recorded can happen on some channels live broadcasts

Live broadcast content in playlist that uses Sky Cloud Server are still recordings

That is why it lists recorded with date and time in your playlist

Part Recorded can happen on Sky Glass/Sky Stream and Sky+/SkyQ

Sky Glass/Sky Stream

1)If you click + by mistake on remote as in remove from playlist during a live broadcast that has already started recording

2)It can also happen sometimes if you unplug power to sky glass during a live broadcast

I had this happen with Premier Sports/BT Sports/Sky Sports Premier league live broadcasts I previously added to playlist

You can by accident on remote click + which will remove (Example program already added to playlist) instead  of clicking return aka back button on remote control if you not carefull

If you do this it stops recording a live broadcast  and results in Part Recorded when you click+ to  remove

You can still end up with Part Recorded if you click+ to add back to playlist during live broadcast if you previously by accident clicked remove during a live broadcast

If you had a Part Recorded happen sometimes a live recording can get replaced with the on demand version that broadcast later during day or week

That won't happen always though as some channels the Premier League Games with BT Sport and Premier Sports and Sky Sports the repeats are not the same broadcast length or don't get a repeat broadcast at all

Some of the Premier League the repeat broadcasts  are only available for week and your playlist will then revert to Part Recorded version you previously had

Formula 1 is different a lot of those live broadcasts can end up been replaced with repeat broadcast version or on demand version

Premier league Football Live Broadcasts

Avoid removing from playlist during a live broadcast if you previously added to  playlist as this can result in part recordings happen

As in once a live broadcast has started do not click remove from playlist as this can result in sky cloud server stop your live recording at the time you clicked removed

Re: Playlist refresh now live.

So new episode of Yellowstone available but I had no idea as it hasn't moved up in the most recent it's still last and it hasn't gone to continue watching even though I have already watched 2 episodes it's the same for prime stuff,  how are we meant to know when knew episodes are available, also friends is stuck in my continue watching from Netflix even though I have added it to my playlist and there is no way to clear it as Netflix doesn't intergrate the same as other apps, so I can't go to the last episode and ff to clear it.

It's changed slightly, here you go:

A new program added goes into most recent and sits there.

The latest episode should move that program to the front of the most recent list once available. If you have another new episode of a different program 30 mins later that will move to the front.

In tandem once you've watched a first time episode of a Program from the most recent the system now knows to add future episodes into the continue watching rail. So the continue watching rail will update with new episodes from your most recent that you have started previously watching or if available the next episode in the series. Dare I say like a "recording" and series link.

But, if you watch an on Demand that you don't add to your playlist the system assumes you then want to watch all episodes of the series or box set whether you do or don't and adds it to continue watching,  frustrating because it's not easily removed.

To get rid of these rogue unwanted episodes you have to locate the final episode in the series or boxset and start to watch it then fast forward to the end to remove it. This is more tricky if a program is across multiple app providers. BBC, Gold, Dave etc.

* A program / film will remain in your playlist. Most recent until you remove it even if 100% watched. It will disappear if no longer available, I believe.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, but playlist still doesn't 'record' everything reliably.

For example, here's my PGA tour golf page. The most recent item is day 3 of the most recent tournament.

Programmes saved are

Day 3, SS Mix more some reason

Day 2, SSME

Day 2 featured groups (early coverage), SS Golf

Day 1, SSME

Day 1 featured groups, SSME

What should be there is the final day, so as far as I can tell there is no way to watch the climax of the tournament.

Before the update it has saved all four days of the previous tournament, all on SS Golf.

Re: Playlist refresh now live.

...and even worse, if I do a voice search for 'PGA Tour golf' it gives me a screen that says 'Day 4 of the RSM Classic'.

Great, I thought.

But no. If I click on that it shows day 3 of the previous week's tournament and below that the same as I had in my playlist, but in chronological order.

Still no way to watch the final day of the RSM.

Re: Playlist refresh now live.

Most recent is populating already watched content or content that isn't available to watch I.e. no way to watch.

@Ed.B.

I have to say that I find it works almost to how it should, it is still needing work for sure especially to remove content from continue watching.

I'm not a sport fan zero interest don't subscribe, that said I've read many posts where sport, start times, catch up, on demand, not available etc. are major issues for you watching sports and I too would be far from happy having to put up with the issues around sport, especially as a paying subscriber the sports packages are not cheap!

It appears to me that sport is best recorded and therefore assured to be available. Q seems to be the answer not stream. I'd be swapping out and using this argument if outside of the 31 days. Sky must be aware of the problems around sport.

It seems to work well enough for regular shows - for example both the White Lotus and Real Time were ready to view in my playlist after my holiday. But sport regularly fails, and that is what I watch the most.

Why is it so hard? Q would always record it just fine.

And here we go again,last nights Miriam and Alan new episode hasn't moved to the front of my most recent,I'm a celebrity hasn't showed in continue watching,Louis Theroux interviews and Alexander Armstrong in South Korea have appeared in continue watching even though we have 100% never watched them.Still if a add a series to my playlist on my puck and go to the glass tv I thinks I haven't added it at all....

The mind boggles as to how or why sky release half [content removed] updates (or as I call them now downdates) is totally beyond me.

Re: Playlist refresh now live.

@Deedee36  It's totally unacceptable.

I added a show that was on channel 4 last night, it appeared in my most recent. This should happen when 'it becomes available' so sat down to watch it and it is just a placeholder no link to the actual showing from last night and displays the next airing dates only!

Most recent isn't working for me as it's advertised!

Re: Playlist refresh now live.

The whole thing is just so random, different users experience different results most of which are unexpected!

I can't understand why they are unable to get an effective library working.

BT Pro which appears to be shoestring funded has a great watchlist but is weak elsewhere.

Apple TV Up Next works great very few issues but no epg.

Sky flippin heck who knows what you'll get but they do have a total package.

I so want this to work and as much as I'm not a fan of Apple at least their platform is stable and it works.

Another thing that I'm not sure if it's a bug or in the design is.......I know when you add a show it appears in most recent so say for example I'm watching I'm a celebrity and tonight's episode is pushed to the front of most recent and continue watching so if I watch it it will disappear from continue watching,should it not also disappear from most recent and reappear back to the front when the next eposode is available??

Dont even get me started on the blue progress bars.....switch on the tv or puck in the morning and they are all gone it's not to bad with shows from iPlayer or dare I say itv hub because if your half way through a show from yesterday and continue watching their app remembers where you were,if there is no progress bar on a sky show back to the start you go,surley skys servers should remember where you were???

Same here but I think it should sit at the front and just get pushed back until a new program comes in to replace it otherwise what would take its place if it goes to the back.

What they should do when you've caught up 100% is have a holding tile that says something like ......

"Your all caught up"

Be careful they may read this as requiring a new rail. 😂 My life on Glass is just rails that dont follow any logic or system!

No fear of that, Sky don't listen to the users, heaven forbid they may have an idea.

@TimmyBGood

Sadly there is no choice but to pay attention to Continue Watching rail and Playlist rails as these are fundamental parts of the platform without which you'd just have a holding screen of apps whereby a cheap firestick would suffice.
