Pink picture Sky Q

My tv picture is tinged pink on my sky q mini box. We have changed hdmi cables, we have changed ports, we have rebooted. Everything else is fine (ie Netflix through the tv not through sky) so it must be the sky box. I can't speak to anyone at sky, the automated service just keeps asking me automated questions and then sending me text messages and hanging up. The advice is to post on here. This really is the worst customer service in the world.

Hi @k8ibelle

Try first rebooting your Main Q box and then when this is completely back up and running reboot the mini.

To reboot press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote.

note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.

Hi @k8ibelle

Although you say it cannot be the TV because Netflix is OK it still could be a problem with the TV HDMI inputs.

Try Changing the resolution of the min box to 1080i.

Home - Settings - Setup - Audio visual.

Change resolution to 1080i

Re: Pink picture Sky Q

I have changed the HDMI cable and also checked them on the DVD player so they both work fine there.

Re: Pink picture Sky Q

Thank you for your help! We have tried this too and it didn't work. My main problem at the moment is that I can't get hold of sky for them to help me. I either have an automated answer service that sends me texts with suggestions or am directed to sky community

One other thing you could try @k8ibelle

Try a Reset Settings in the main Q box  hidden menu.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.

If this doesn't change it there is also a reset settings in the mini hidden menu.

Re: Pink picture Sky Q

I have the same issue, changed the Sky hdmi to a known good hdmi height speed 60Hz cable and it's still pink (has been fine for about 1 year now).

Tried rebooting, res adjustment, hdmi cable, different hdmi port on av receiver..no joy.

Assuming if I system reset, I will need to reprogram series links, favourites ...

Re: Pink picture Sky Q

The reset has killed the picture altogether. Box boots and you see the white sky flash screen but then all black. Audio working fine, so it's the video side of the box having issues.

phone call tomorrow I guess ...

Re: Pink picture Sky Q

@orionv75

Now it's become a black screen, have you tried pressing Home 1 0 8 0 Home to ensure the resolution of the picture is 1080i.

Failing that, no need for a call. Follow these steps. If it fails to help solve the issue, you can order a new box from the link:

Re: Pink picture Sky Q

Thanks @Rhonny

I simply wasn't patient enough, just turned on this morning and all working(must have been doing it's update in the background last night), colour restored after rest and ap and running at 1080i. Changed to 2160 10bit and all good.

So there you have it, reset does the job.

Thanks everyone.
