Moving House Sky Q- No phone line/broadband

Hi folks,

 

Just wanted to ask about moving house with sky Q. My new house does not have a phone line or broadband set up. Will this take longer than 2 weeks and is it all done on the same day?

Only the home move team at Sky can tell you this, as it will vary on a case by case basis, and depend where you're moving to. And whether you're having Sky for broadband and calls, or another provider.

Thanks @Rhonny yes I have sky for broadband and calls. I was just curious as to whether an engineer from sky or bt comes before my moving date to set it up or not. Cheers

It would be Openreach setting up your line if one isn't active there yet. It would be all down to timing that only Sky could've advise on, but a call should sort all that out for you.

No, because typically the person moving is not in legal possession of the new property at that point and so cannot consent to any required work. If you already own it then the job could be booked to happen earlier, but subscription would cease at the current address on the date the new one goes 'live' (otherwise it's two services and so two subscriptions).  In many cases no actual attendance at the address is required for broadband transfer, but would be if there's no existing Openreach circuit, and typically line installation will trigger service activation.
