Hi, I have a few related questions:
(I have Sky for everything including Broadband at the moment).
1) My main box and dish are at one end of the house and I have one minibox in the middle of the house. Can I install another mini box at the far end of the house, in range of the middle mini box but not in range of main box? I tested with an Ipad and I can stream an iplayer program using the Sky Wifi (no non sky booster equipment switched on at all) from the location where I want to place the mini box with no issues. Does this mean I can assume mini-box will work fine?
2) Is there a limit to the number of mini boxes that can work at the same time - I am thinking of getting 2 more so that would be 3 mini boxes in total?
3) If I purchase a 2TB main box, can my existing 1TB main box be reconfigured as a mini box or do I have to buy a mini box specifically?
TIA for any responses here.

There are no guarantees but as everything is with SKY this could work OK. If not you may be able to get a booster to place somewhere in between

There is a max limit of 2 in use at the same time (for SKY) with all main boxes except the original 1TB nonUHD boxes (Hardware version 32Cxxx) which can only support 1 active . You can use another if only streaming on Netflix or Disney + etc & I think this needs to be in use first
3) If I purchase a 2TB main box, can my existing 1TB main box be reconfigured as a mini box or do I have to buy a mini box specifically?
No, main boxes can't be configured as minis and you can only have one main box. If you upgrade from a 1TB to 2TB the old box must be returned (all boxes remain SKY property & the fee is an admin fee not purchase)
TIA for any responses here.

Hi - thanks for your reply, and just to clarify:
On the sky webesite it says that I can connect "up to 4" mini boxes and pause in one room to carry on watching in another.
From your reply, I'm guessing this means that I could simultaneously watch on the main box plus 2 mini boxes, but if I want to watch on a 3rd mini box, I have to pause or stop play one one of the other two?

Hi @Cat1967 yes you can have up to 4 minis on your account but can only watch on 2 + the main box at any time - some of the wording is a little ambiguous as I think it says up to 3 Tvs but for this one must be the main .
If you want to watch Satellite or recordings on a 3rd mini then, yes, you need to stop watching on one and put into standby before starting to watch on the other, thus only having 2 active
That said, as I mentioned I believe you can use more than 2 but only if the first one(s) in use is/are being used for the streaming apps such as Netflix rather than Satellite channels or recordings
