Law & Order: SVU - Season 23 UK Start Date?

Hi,

Does anyone know when Season 23 of LAW & ORDER: SVU will actually start broadcasting, alongside Season 2 of LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME?

And any news on Season 9 of THE BLACKLIST?

All are NBC/Universal/Comcast shows, so I had hoped they would be airing relatively soon after their US start dates, but it seems they now start months after the USA, and it's really ticking me off.

Come on Sky/NBC: please get these shows back onto the UK as soon as possible.  It's not as if  you don't have enough channels/timeslots that could easily be utilised.

Probably June for first 2 along with the revival of the original.

The Blacklist is actually a Sony show broadcast on NBC ,  no idea on a date for that though.

I agree the first 2 could easily be aired earlier though , the same can be said of the Upcoming NBC show The Endgame.

Re: Law & Order: SVU - Season 23 UK Start Date?

Thanks Timelord2018.

Not the news I was hoping for.  I love SVU and it used to air on Hallmark, within days of the US transmissions, and now, it seems like we won't be getting it until it's completely finished its latest run in the USA, which is criminal.

Apologies for confusing THE BLACKLIST as an NBC show.  But again, a show that UK viewers have kept up-to-date with, is now being horrendously delayed, whilst other, lesser shows, get priority.

Most annoying.  Sky have gots hundreds of channels.  There's really no excuse for them not to air all of these, roughly in line with the USA.

Forcing people to wait nine or ten months, just isn't right, for the price we pay Sky,  and for whom their current motto is "Believe in Better"!  What a joke that motto is!

No wonder so many people just download these shows and watch them illegally - something I'm very firmly against - but which I now see the attraction.

Sky should really be combatting delays of this length.  We shouldn't be waiting nine months plus, to see a show until it's already finished the latest Season in the USA.

Geektown is good for checking these things.

Nothing exact for any of these series. Sky do prefer to run it week by week until the finale.

In the USA, the broadcasting of episodes can be a bit erratic unfortunately, on two weeks then a three week break

@nolte   Thanks for the info, but Geektown has nothing showing on there.

I was aware that the way US shows are broadcast in the US, in a very haphazard fashion, but that shouldn't stop Sky/Comcast in the UK from giving us the show much quicker than it has done, since Hallmark/Universal Channel closed down.

Hallmark/Universal Channel used to either air it shortly after the USA, with whatever breaks it needed to do so, as-and-when we caught up to the US broadcasts, or would simply start showing the series from January, and run it almost all the way through until May/June time.

Now since Hallmark/Universal Channel have closed, we don't get it until June/July, almost a year after the USA.  Completely ridiculous and hugely unfair to all of SVU's UK fans who've stuck with the show for more than 20 years now, and really enjoyed it.

Considering how many entertainment channels Sky/Comcast own and operate now, there really isn't any excuse to delay any of the US drama shows like this one, for so long, if they have the rights to it.  The exception would be for US shows that are now on streaming networks like NCIS is on Disney+.

I guess Sky just don't care about the show anymore.  More's the pity!

Re: Law & Order: SVU - Season 23 UK Start Date?

They could easily air The Blacklist without breaks from late January/early February aswell , S9 was actually originally in the advanced press listings for 26th of January but got removed at the last minute, doesn't look like it's airing in March.

In Nordic countries it's aired on Viaplay a day after the US.

Sky don't air the 2 FBI (now 3) Shows until the summer either although Paramount own the international distribution rights, Universal Television make them.
