Yes, providers who use the Openreach infrastructure like Sky and Vodafone will arrange cancellation of your old service when you switch to them. You would need to speak to Vodafone,  however about possible reimbursement for your termination charges with Sky. That can't happen automatically.

@Mazza+040153  If you transferred while still in contract then Sky are entitled to charge early exit fees, these are explained in the T & C's you agreed to when you signed up to Sky.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Being a  Sky VIP doesn't mean you don't have to adhere to contract periods. Perhaps the new supplier might offer to pay the costs?

All Sky customers now have VIP on their accounts so this counts for nothing if monies are owed.

@Mazza+040153 around 10 million of us are VIPs - it just means you have been with Sky for 12 months.

Re: Just been told I’m being charged £64 as I changed to another provider

Thanks for all the answers, been phoning back and forward between sky and Vodaphone as V said Sky should pay this as they had given me wrong advice, V refused blaming Sky, bottom line is yesterday a very helpful Sky advisor spoke to various people and as I was VIP for 19 years they wavered the £64 so just saying don't give up @GD1
