Is Sky Q rented only
Hi. Is the Q only rented, or does it become your box at any point? Also, can you buy a box and put your viewing card in it, or need to officially upgrade?

Re: Is Sky Q rented only
@SmudgerSmith501No No and no.
Sky Q boxes are only loaned and must be returned if you end the contract if you don't you will be charged a large non return fee.
They are useless without a contract as Sky block them.

Re: Is Sky Q rented only
Hi @SmudgerSmith501 I'm afraid that all Sky Q boxes are loaned to customers and even if they pay the non-return fee ownership remains with Sky. You cannot buy them but simply get them loaned free with a subscription.

@SmudgerSmith501 just to add to the excellent advice from @bob1234 and @MightyQuinn although you may see boxes for sale on internet sites don't be tempted to purchase any of them as Sky will block them and all you will have is a pricey doorstep. If you want to upgrade your box go through Sky
