House move do I need engineers?

Hello

i am due to move house next month I currently have sky broad band and sky tv with sky Q

The new property has a BT phone line and the current owners already have sky Q

Do I actually need an engineer to visit surely I can just plug everything in and it should work with a simple notification to sky of a change of address?

Having contacted sky online they insisted an engineer needs to visit 'just in case'

You can just plug the Sky Q in and use it, if it work's great. Then you can cancel the engineer. If it doesnt work then you can obviously keep the visit as something needs checking.

Thanks

Re: House move do I need engineers?

I guessed that maybe the case - would it be the same with broadband per chance?

@Phil008008 Your broadband service will require an Openreach engineer to activate it and that takes around 14 days from the date the order is placed, there is no way around that.
