Harry Potter Movies have Returned

All of the 8 Harry Potter movies have returned to Sky Cinema in UHD/HDR. They will expire on December 30, 2021. But, if you download them all before then, then you will have them available after December 30.  It's unknown how long they will be available, but you will be warned when they are about to expire if they will expire. Once downloaded, there is no visible expiry date on Sky Q. So if you want to watch these movies over Christmas/New Years then download before December 30 and you'll have them to watch.

I don't know about the UHD but the HD version when downloaded will be deleted at 11.59pm on 30th December.

The UHD/DHR and UHD versions are not set yo expire on December 30. The HD and SD version are set to expire.

But the way around that is to record the HD or SD versions from Sky Cinema and they won't expire.

To complete this Potter fest, Sky & NOW will also be the exclusive home of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, which will join the full collection of The Harry Potter Film Series on a Wizarding World 20th Anniversary pop-up channel set to go live on 19th December.

@Sarilla there's a specific problem for customers who have BT broadband that might be causing it. Are you one of them?

BT. We've checked the speed and it's ok too. Completely stumped as other things have downloaded ok. We've deleted loads off our playlist and the deleted list too.

Weirdly today's new Sky film A Christmas No 1 just failed but another film didn't.  Broadband is fine and settings says connected ok.

@Sarilla As mentioned by @Mark39 in the post above yours, there is currently an issue with BT Broadband customers.

Re: Harry Potter Movies have Returned

So sorry. I'm ill with Covid and trying to download movies to keep the kids occupied. I misread it as saying Sky broadband 🤦‍♀️ Is there any way of sorting it out for BT broadband users? Thanks.

You can try to change the DNS to 1.1.1.1. or 8.8.8.8 in the Sky Q network settings.

Home > Settings > Setup > Advanced Settings > Set manually > DNS Server

Changing the DNS setting in your Sky box may resolve it. My fellow Oracle @Annie+UK explains how in question 30 of the FAQ here: https://annieuk.ddns.net/sky-faq.php?t=2&dark=1

Thank you both.  Will try this but hopefully Sky will sort it soon too. Thanks again
