Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

Found the Watchdog link.

If anybody is suffering from the audio dropouts described in this thread, feel free to fill in the form below.
Absolutely no obligation on anyone.

Seeing as the original thread first mentioned this issue over 2 years ago, it's getting a bit silly now.

@Gridders Thanks for restarting.

No surprise the old one got pulled I suppose. Original posters probably aren't active anymore because they've moved onto Virgin or BT.

As they are obviously monitoring the old thread and this, why are they not updating their support staff and engineers about the problem, thereby saving their time and their long suffering  customers frustration.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

Closing the last thread is beyond contemptable and clearly a response to some grief they are getting from elsewhere due to the rising tide - a pure hush campaign and stink tactics. Have therefore filled in the watchdog form also.

I am also in the same club, I paid £50 for a v3 box so that I could get HDR and ever since have been getting the sound dropouts like everyone else, box is via Onkyo TXNR686 for the dolby.

@Gridders  This table lists the hardware types

How to check which Sky box and software version you have | Sky Help | Sky.com

So, i'd suggest 4 threads (can you rename yours ?)

32Cxx -    Box Not Fit for Purpose (sound cutting out)

32B2XX - Box Not Fit for Purpose (sound cutting out)

32B1xx -  Box Not Fit for Purpose (sound cutting out)

32B0xx - Box Not Fit for Purpose (sound cutting out)

As you can't get a mini on their own then these get tagged under whichever q box version you have.

@CyberFriday I don't seem to be getting any more comments now or comments on the threads you set up?

Personally I don't think 4 threads was necessary.  They will drop off the front page very quickly.

Sky are aware of the issue - I'm sure they are working on it.  I doubt more posts here isn't going to change their course.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

Agree don't need 4 threads. Need to keep it focussed. But disagree they are working on it and we should stop posting. Need to keep up pressure and spread word to some influencers

I never said to stop posting...  It is reported that Sky are discussing with Dolby directly.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't fixed but it obviously won't be in the timeframe many would like and collateral damage seems apparent.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

Yeah let's keep to a single thread.  No-one is going to check their box number and will likely post on the wrong one making it worse actually.  Or we will just have loads of new threads started.  And where would general comments eg watchdog go.

Maybe if anyone has anything specific to say they could state their box number in their post.

Shame you can't create a poll in the thread, keep it simple

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

@PandJ2020 Where was it reported that Sky are talking to Dolby? I don't recall seeing a mention of that before.

On this forum.  Someone had posted they had called Sky and were advised of the above.  Of course, a pinch of salt as large as your choosing.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

@PandJ2020 @If that's true then that is some positive news. Collaborating with Dolby is the right way to go in my view, if this is a software issue. This goes back to my point that I made earlier that we just don't know if Sky is throwing enough or the right resources at this issue.

again positive if this is true.
