Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

I'm sitting here in the end of a phone call to sky endlessly listening to the theme from Broadwalk Empire, I think, waiting to demand my money back for the £50 I paid in December for a not fit for purpose box. Will let you know!!!!

Fair enough but now you've paid 40 quid for a box that isn't fit for purpose.  You should have asked for the full 50 back.

After being called by Watchdog, I never actually received the email with instructions how to send them a video,.

I guess they maybe had enough responses already, I wasn't needed.

Which is good news.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

I am not taking any financial compensation as this may go against me in the future, the issue isnt solved so i wouldnt accept a mesely amount, they could use this against me in the future!

My V3 box did this as soon as installed due to issues on my original silver and Sky still wont tell me that its a fault being looked in, go figure! - They have been doing the same since i started getting random 'Failed - remote network problem', which again is not an issue. Its becoming laughable, and Sky have me exactly where they want me and i hate that!

I am shocked by the other thread being closed!

I just want the system rectified, not a token compensation payment.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

What @Anonymous mentions above is dynamite.  Are you seriously getting free sky TV just cos you complained to the right people. Everyone on this thread has the same issues. Many have complained by phone to CS agents and been fobbed off or given engineer visits and new boxes that sky know won't fix the issue.  Others haven't complained as what's the point but still suffer.  No refunds for them.

I think a community manager needs to comment on this

I very nearly ordered myself a new HDR box last night after spotting Netflix wasnt displaying HDR content. So glad I came across this thread, I think i'll ride it out!

In working  through the process, get £10 back and a new box, installed the new box and find it doesn't work either, go for the throat..... but I will ring the number you've mentioned Monday and see what they say. But then I will have installed the new box and see whether there is any change. I know it's been going in for a long time but I think I have to build up my own experience of it.

Well here was me thinking it was possibly my Sonos setup. Same issues as listed, time to call Sky and complain again.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

Hi guys, curious to know how much content the drop outs applies to? I.e

- All 4K / UHD Content

- Only 4K HDR content

- Some 1080p Content

Thanks

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

@Stuvennn - it's entirely random. I have never had it on live TV in any format Or resolution. I get it only on recorded & downloaded content in all formats & resolutions. SD, HD, UHD & HDR.

I don't use the Q apps so don't know if I'd get it on Netflix, Prime etc but others have said they do, again in all resolutions.

@fizzdisco wow, I didn't realise it was that wide spread, thanks for confirming.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)

Hi guys.
Just got the V3 box swapped out. Currently it's in Q120 software.
Should I (not) update?

@Larry+Duggan I don't think it's possible to stop it being auto-updated.
