Just as a brief update - I'm now in a limbo situation where Sky are refusing to provide me any additional updates until Panther return the TV to them (although the My Sky app seems to think that it has arrived and needs activating) and Panther tracking shows that the delivery has been cancelled by the retailer and are telling me to contact Sky. At least Panther are willing to talk to me.
So that's fun...

They really are at peak shambles right now. Unbelievable.
