No this error occurs regardless of which channel is showing on the box - the only way to get rid of it for me was to turn the box off

This error has suddenly dissapeared and I can now watch live and Sky Q recorded programs on my PC.
Happy days

Funny thing is we have all figured out it works fine on windows pc if the skygo app does not connect to sky q box but Sky engineers haven't and not found a fix it's a total and utter nonsense... Gone downhill

hmmm, if I connect to a VPN, I can now watch recordings from my SkQ box.

@SmurfyPops is this with the Disconnect from Q update?
02 Mar 2020 04:51 PM
whats that update?
02 Mar 2020 05:14 PM
Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThere is an update that is going to be rolled out over the coming weeks which will allow the user to disconnect the Sky Go app from their Sky Q box which might fix some of these errors.

Ah OK, thanks.
If the app is disconnected from the Sky Q box, how can we watch recordings ?
02 Mar 2020 06:07 PM
@SmurfyPops By using the option to download to your device.

Can confirm that with the update, in preferences turning off connection to Q does finally allow you to watch Live TV. However Recordings are then missing, though they have always been unplayable with the 9001 error for me. One step at a time.
