I have just been switched to SkyQ and I purchased a second remote from the engineer but the second one doesn't work. I reprogrammed it and it knocked out the second one each time. We had two operating on Sky+ with no problems.
any ideas?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreYou can only pair one remote to a Sky Q box via Bluetooth. You can use a second remote in infra red mode but you lose the voice functionality.

I didn't know Sky engineers sold remotes... How much did they charge you for it?

You can use a second (or more) remote but only one can be paired in bluetooth mode (& thus voice control)
The second has to be used in infrared only mode
If you want both to be paired with the TV you need to pair the one that will be used as IR first - pair as bluetooth (press & hold 1 & 3) & then set it to IR mode by pressing & holding 6 & 7
Then you pair the one that you want as bluetooth (& use for voice)
If you need to reset a remote fully before trying to repair press & hold 7 & 9 until the LED flashes 4 times

Your right I did hold of an engineer from sky and that's exactly what did.
pres 7:9 at the same time for 4 flashed
to reset the remotes.
re pair the first remote after which press 1:3 for 4 flashes which converts it infra Red only so no voice option
you then pair the second remote in the usual way and it will be blue tooth so voice activation will work.
hope this helps.
