Broadband issues
Hi!
I'm struggling with my broadband - according to sky.com broadband test I've been getting solid 37mb/s for as far back as I can see. I however am not recieveing this to any of my devices, it fluctuates constantly between nothing and 10mb/s, I've tried all the things recommended by a sky technician and nothings worked, they even sent me a new router. Is there a possibility it's an issue with the line inside my home? I don't really know what to do. Any help much appreciated.

Re: Broadband issues
Your wifi speed is always going to be lower than your line speed, you'll only be achieving the higher end if you connect your devices via ethernet.

Re: Broadband issues
The thing is I used to achieve 30+ mb/s, I used to get it on a solid connection. Nothings changed, not the position of the router, not the arrangement of my house, yet the speed has dropped to 0-10. I'd agree with you if the speed was stable at a lower mb/s but it's not. But to test your theory, I'm going to buy an Etherlet cable and test my Devices from that.

Re: Broadband issues
@Joshm94 Regardless of the fact you haven't "changed anything" Wifi is prone to interference from neighbouring wifi signals, all competing for limited spectrum. This can reduce you speed over wifi, if you install a wifi analyzer app to your phone you will see all the other wifi signals from nearby properties all fighting for spectrum.

Re: Broadband issues
I've considered this too, again neighbours haven't changed, yet when I first moved in the WiFi signal was solid for a few months, there was a sudden decline at some point and its been terrible since. Unless someone's installed something close by that could have a large impact on WiFi signals?

Re: Broadband issues
@Joshm94 More wifi divices on 2.4ghz meeans less spectrum, a wifi analyzer would be a place to start (these are usually free from your app store)
