Hi all,
I am having 500mb install next Monday and I didn't twigg until after the call with CS had finished that they said I will have to plug my phone into the router for VOIP calls.
My current setup is 60mb BB with the phone in the kitchen and the router in the front room behind the TV with the cables coming out of the openreach MK4 master socket in the kitchen into the phone then across the room to the router.
Does that mean
1 will I need to buy a VOIP phone ?
2 or can I plug exiting phone into the router
Or can I change the connections on the cable from the kitchen to the front room router and leave the phone in the kitchen and plug into the router and the other end into the phone?
Hope this makes sense
Thanks in advance
Nick

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreNote that 500Mbs has to be FTTP, so the current master socket location is no longer relevant. You can decide (within reason) where the ONT is located at the end of the new fibre: the Sky Hub connects to the ONT over ethernet.
