lost for words

Hi there

l wonder if anyone can help me please

Over the last couple of days Sky have rung me to say that i qualify for a discount on my monthly account around 30% they went on and on and i was driving anyway they rang back yesterday while i was at work and they were going on about me been with them for 25 yrs etcetc and wanted to give me a discouunt as apparenty my sky is out of contract so they agreed my bills would be reduced etc and i qualified for a free gift for loyal service

Then i checked my emails to have 8 emails from sky stating changes to my account also that my package was arriving today then next saying id ordered a galaxy phone at a cost of £1399 and it was over 48 months etc etc and the list goes on

So last night i spent a lot of time chatting with sky via messesage on here to be told the fraud team will take 3 to 5 days to get in touch

this morning yet another phone call from sky to say my package was on its way and that ineeded to be in i said what package is it ? they couldnt tell me and said theyt would ring back but i need to stay in as the package could ot be left

needless to say its 730pm been in all day no package ive checked my messages on the sky system of which there are about 8 from yesterday but ot wont let me access them

What should i do as you cant speak to anyone and the issue needs resolving  any advice would be great oh and they have completed a credit check for a product i didnt order   its a shambles

You've been scammed.

Sky did not call you to offer you a discount - it was scammers pretending to be Sky.  (And you probably gave them the details they needed to access your account)

See here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/account-takeover

Heed to advice carefully.

Change your account passwords immediately.

Personally, when items are delivered I would keep them and only return them to the official channels on the link I've given - if you return them elsewhere (or let someone collect them) then there's a high chance the scammers will have the devices and you'll be paying for them.

Also, this won't be resolved quickly - it will likely take many weeks.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

It was the scammers who placed any such order, using the account and security details they obtained from you during discussion of the (bogus) '30% discount' and (even more bogus) 'free gift': this scam technique has been the topic of multiple similar posts.  To Sky it appeared that you were ordering, so they would have carried out a credit check against your name as is required by the Financial Conduct Authority.

@Nige21

It would not have been Sky that ordered it as anyone can phone you saying they are from a company like Sky, it does mean they are and in this case it is not Sky for the reasons posted above.
