my contract runs out in february, ive been with sky over 20 years now,i had to take a new contract out,to get the full package with around 30 pounds cheaper than what it was, when it runs out in february,it goes right up to 98 pounds 50 a month ,far to expensive,i phoned up about it a little while ago, they told me to phone again at the end of december or early january ,to see what deal they can give me,but inless they knock around 30 pounds off again, this time ive got no choice but to leave, especially has i can no longer get sky catch up,i dont know if they will knock that amount off again ,has they did before, but there also benefitting from it if they do,because they would get a new contract out of me,or lose me altogether.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreSubstantial discounts appear to be harder to come by nowadays. It's usually a few pounds off the full list price. But see what Sky says nearer the time..

i mean 98 pounds 50 now for the full package is ridicolous, yes they said wait till end of december or early january and phone them back again,

Just been through this annual dance again with contract renewal. It was harder this year. Contact was due to end, and they said it would go up from £69 to £100, so told them to cancel it and gave the 30 days notice. But, they did. This was retentions team.
so waited a few weeks then called up, got put through to a different team, and they renewed for £67, albeit 24 month contract.
been with sky 30 years and it's definitely harder now to renegotiate.

Thats dethantly not good news for me,for when i have to phone them again soon, and uve been with them for 30 years has well, ive been with them for over 20 years, trouble is sometimes it depends who you get over the phone, you got it for 67 pounds in the end ,

Tbh, I was surprised they said it would be less. Expected it to go up.

moose i did read up somewhere on the interenet your more likely get a better deal,if you get to talk to someone in the uk,than talking to someone at school ,abroad ,dont know if thats true or not.

sorry sky abroad,i put school in that last post.
28 Oct 2024 10:56 PM
oh i see .they transfer you to another department,to get a better deal. see if i threaten to cancel sky,id have to go through with it,if i dont get a better deal, otherwise they will just think im bluffing about cancelling it,they will call my bluff.

That's what I did, and was expecting them to call and say don't go, but they didn't. I called them with 2 weeks left till I get cut off.
You are allowed to change your mind!

yes i think thats the trouble, they know people that have been with sky so long, have got used to having sky, that they dont really think, people are serious about leaving ,so maybe theyve got to the stage of saying ,if you want to leave us its up to you,,that might be another reason its harder now to get them to let us have the package cheaper, but what im going to do is,at the end of december ,before it runs out in february,is keep on phoning them ,until i get the right person at the end of the phone, that gives me a good deal,

Needs to be done in the last 30 days of your contract, any earlier they will do nothing as your contracted.
28 Oct 2024 11:27 PM
yes on the 8th of each month ,i pay sky,so on the 8th of february, will be my first payment after my contract ends,so maybe around early january, will be a good time to phone them.
