In January 2023 I took a new contract for 39.51. The next month it rose to 58.00 and then by April again to 66.10. Now finally since May it gone to 77.00. What on earth is going on? Is this legal? Can I report sky to some kind of ombudsman for shady business practice? Has this happen to anyone else? Nothing changed on my package since January so wondering how they can just keep jacking up the prices whenever they feel?

Its a standard Sky Q HD package with sports and movies. I was going to leave because the costs were out of control but in January they offered me this deal for 18 months which seemed acceptable so took it.

Exactly, which is why I was happy to stay with them. It was over 100 before which was why I opted to cancel. Just can't believe they can covertly jack up the price month on month approaching what I was paying before.

Check your last bill against a previous one (from perhaps May as it'll include the annual price increase) and see where they differ and if there is an explanation by pressing the blue down arrow alongside an amount.
