When I opted for SKY Q, I was told my payment wouldn't change for 18 months.

@RJS1954 If you believe that's what you were told, you can ask Sky to listen to the recording of the call.
However, it's highly unlikely that you were told that as, as mentioned above, Sky don't do fixed price contracts.
