Unable to change account holder
So I've had Sky for around 15+ years, it was originally taken out in my (ex) wifes name at the time. In this time we've migrated the account with a couple of property moves as we've moved houses.
Iv'e recently split up with my wife and she has moved out of the property, and doesnt wish to take Sky with her and im happy to keep the sky products and services.
I'm being told this isnt possible and I have the cancel and close my account - which in this day and age seems quite ridiculous.
Quite obviously while doing this im now going to shop around and look at other offers from other suppliers, where as originally I was only looking to change the name on the account.
Surely someone within Sky can see some sense and logic in allow this in certain circumstances?

Re: Unable to change account holder
@Stuvennn no, Sky don't allow change of account ownership except on bereavement. It's your ex who will have to cancel.

Re: Unable to change account holder
And your ex is also responsible for returning all loaned equipment to Sky. Packaging will be sent out (to the address where the account was active) near the end of any cancellation period (which is 14 days for broadband and 31 days for Sky Q) for any loaned equipment they are expecting back.
NOTE: Posts on here suggest in some cases Sky are not requesting the return of some Sky Q boxes (check with them if you’re unsure).
If the arrival of packaging is delayed, it’s damaged on arrival or doesn’t arrive it’s the account holders responsibility to use their own packaging to return it. You can use any packaging as long as it’s secure and you may want to put a note inside with your account number and a list of equipment that is included. This link explains about how to receive an email with your return labels through Royal Mail.

Re: Unable to change account holder
I realise Sky doesn't allow account holder name to be changed - it is a ridiculous policy. I don't know of any other company that does not allow couples to have a joint account. I realise that if I cancel Direct Debit Sky will chase up my husband - they'll have to find him first! He could have left the country or may even be dead by now. He has never lived at my current address - I am the sole owner. If I receive mail from Sky addressed to him it will be returned.
