Story about getting a phone call

Hello, got a call from [Removed] to change over the internet/phone ffrom the copper network, but when I searched the number it comes up as a scam.

They called again today, and someone else answered the call and signed up for the upgrade.  So in panic at being scammed, we called an official Sky number, and they confirmed it was actually genuine.

I checked the billing section of my account and saw that my package for broadband and phone would be cancelled and replaced by a new order where the phone line will be through VoIP and the broadband will change to SoGea.

Please be careful when getting these calls, numbers can be spoofed and hijacked, and they can be used by scammers, so you have to investigate for yourself.

Good Morning @sugarbeetroot, thanks for posting here on our Community to make us aware of the calls you have been receiving regarding upgrading your Sky Broadband package. You can't be too sure these days and I appreciate you being suspicious of these calls. If you are ever in doubt then don't give any personal details and hang up the call.

I am glad our team were able to confirm the call was genuine and you have placed an order to upgrade to Full Fibre. You'll find more details on dealing with scam calls at our website - https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-scams-help but it sounds like you've got it covered already! 👍🏻

If you do have any other questions then please let us know.

Thanks, Jason-
