Software updates

Has anyone else had the joy of a Sky software update breaking a perfectly working puck, followed by 7+ hours of online chat with multiple advisers who can apologise beautifully but apparently cannot actually fix anything? Bonus points if Sky then sent the replacement to your old address despite being given the new one, refused to cancel or redirect it, and told you to wait another 48 hours while a courier drives to an empty address for absolutely no reason (TWICE in his/her polluting diesel can)  Meanwhile, you take time off work waiting for a delivery that was never coming.

Just wondering whether this is standard Sky customer service, or whether I’ve won some kind of special prize.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Sky customer services! Special prizes are dealt out quite regularly and you've just won one!

These things happen, not all the time, but when they do they can be spectacularly frustrating.

No idea what else to suggest other than you can try lodging a formal complaint about how this 'service' has gone so badly wrong.

Best of luck getting it sorted.

Re: Software updates

Formal complaint now raised. Apparently, I also won a community badge. Thanks, Sky, it's about as much use as **bleep** on a bull and doesn't allow me to watch the football or anything else on a badge. Unfortunately, a badge doesn't quite make up for losing three days of my life dealing with repeated incompetence, endless transfers and people seemingly unwilling to take ownership of a problem caused by Sky.  Without question, this has been the worst customer service experience I've encountered, both professionally and personally. If it doesn't turn up I will cancel Sky, not worth the aggro for such an easy fix.

Agreed, I've never seen the point of badges on forums, not just on this one. Utterly pointless.

Not that it's much help but you can at least watch most of your subscription channels (in glorious 720P) via the Sky Go app until a new puck (hopefully) arrives.
