Sky charged me for full month just week after my account been completely closed

Been with Sky for 14 years.

13th of March 2025 I've decided to move to BT, cause they had better offer.

The Sky closed my account within two weeks and 31st of March my account been completely closed and my new BT contract just started.

Unfortunately the Sky charged me for full month just few day after - on 5th of April.

 

I spoke with two of their's customer advisors and get two different answers:

First that I'll get my money back on 5th of May 2025. (It's 12 of may and I did get nothing)

The second answer get today that I need to visit the Sky shop and get 'money' back as a voucher for shopping in the Sky store. (I don't need to buy anything from them!)

 

Anyone had the same problem with them?

How to resolve that problem. Just want my money back. It's nearly 50 pounds!

The reason this has happened is because that bill would have been created 14 days earlier so before you had left Sky.

 

If you look at your Sky bill now and you see a credit in it then this can be refunded so if you see this then post back  here then we can arrange for you to be contacted via here about this so do you see a credit in your Sky account ?

Yes. There is 56.13 pounds as credit.

Refunds should take about 6 weeks from your last day of connection, but posts on here suggest in some cases they’re taking longer.

 

We can potentially help you get it refunded within 3-5 working days via the Messaging Team on here if you wish. Let us know on this thread if you want to do that.

I’ve escalated your post to Sky and their Messaging Team should contact you later.

Look out for a post on this thread from one of the team inviting you to a private chat and then you should see a blue/red speech bubble at the bottom of your forum page. You’ll have 48 hours to click on it and start the private chat or it will close automatically. If you fail to respond to a chat reply within 48 hours the chat will again close down automatically even if your issue hasn’t been resolved. Replies from Sky aren’t instant so you’ll need to check the chat thread periodically.
