Sky Sports trial - how do I cancel?

Hi guys,

I took out a 1 month trial of Sky Sports yesterday and I've had the welcome/terms email etc.

How do I cancel or at least stop the inevitable auto-renewal? I've been on LIve Chat all morning and after eventually chatting to an agent to transfered me to another 'bot' chat , that then proceeded to mug me off with a load of repeat ID questions before telling me if was busy and that they were unable to connect me with an agent right now 🙄

I don't have time for this. I thought you were meant to be able ot manage your subs etc., from you account?!

Thanks.

To remove part of your TV package you need to give 31 days notice so you'll probably be charged for some days. Make sure cancellation of a certain add-on doesn’t cancel another discount. You may be able to remove it from your My Sky account at
https://www.sky.com/mysky/tv/tv-packs
otherwise you can either call Sky (the lines will be extremely busy due to the storm) or use the messaging service to cancel this

Nope - you have to call to give notice to cancel.

If it's a 1 month trial then you have to give that notice immediately to avoid charges.

Yes.  Billing is pro-rata so if you use 1 day past the trial then you'll be charged for 1 day.  (However, the billing process complicates matters as billing is monthly in advance - which means you may pay for the next month even under notice - the following bill will generate a credit)

Re: Sky Sports trial - how do I cancel?

All sorted through a really helpful agent on WhatsApp. I've got the Sports until 23/03, and after then - it cancels, no charge 😎

Thanks!

Be careful because as stated above more often than not you would need to give 31 days notice to cancel a trial like this as they don't usually cancel automatically.

Re: Sky Sports trial - how do I cancel?

I hear you... don't know why the WhatsApp agent would be that deceitful/dishonest then after I reiterated that I didn't want to get any additional charges? I won't get rid of the chat for now 😉

I've been explicitly told that the trial will end on the 23/03 and they'll be no charge, as I was only on a trial in the first place. There was an offer to end the trial with immediate effect but because I was within the cooling off period of the trial, I would lose access. Again, all in the chat. Fingers crossed it all work out.
