Scam calls from mobile number offering 30% off

Is there a new scam doing the rounds with Sky? Only two weeks ago I was out of contract and phoned to discuss prices and was offered a deal significantly higher than out of contract prices. 

I declined and handed my notice in and then received a call last week offering around the same price I'm paying. I took that as I couldn't be bothered changing providers and was happy with it staying around the same price. 

Since then I have been inundated with scam calls, I've even had people texting and phoning me stating I've rang them. They have provided proof of this via screenshots and low and my number has phoned them repeatedly.

I've just had another call, this time from a mobile number and the person claiming to be Sky. A woman with an accent stating because I'm a loyal customer I can have 30% off. I said to go ahead but then she asked me to confirm my bill, I refused, she said not to worry it's Sky and the calls are recorded. I told her to confirm my bill and she said "ok we'll try another confirmation route" and proceeded to ask for my name. 

Obviously I refused and pointed out that she should have these details to which she replied "sorry sir I don't see your information as that's a different department". I then said I wouldn't be giving details to a random mobile and she needed to email me the details. She then agreed but asked for the email - at which point I said to her it was a scam and she went silent. 

I had this happening with Virgin when I had my broadband with them. I used to phone or get calls for offers and then suddenly I would be inundated with scam calls. Why are Sky allowing beaches like this and using call centres which are renowned for scamming?

These types of calls where they offer you a certain percentage off are now new as they have been going around for a good while now as they are designed to capture your account information so expensive mobiles and tablets can be ordered meaning you would be paying for it. If you can see if you can block calls from unknown callers so that nobody that isn't in your contact list will get through to you.

I know the 30% one was doing the rounds a few years ago but now it's the fact since speaking to Sky two weeks ago, people have been contacting me showing my number is spoofed. I don't actually use my phone for calling people and always use WhatsApp - so I never answer typically and I've not phoned anyone off the number bar Sky.

My call history shows only Sky in regards to calling out in the last five months. I will only ever ring businesses on my landline and if they ring me it obviously shows their name. I'm pretty sure it was the same women I spoke to two weeks ago as well because the same issue was happening where I couldn't hear her clearly.

These scammers randomly call people so with the millions of customers that Sky has it is going to take them to long before they come across actual customers.
