Speed "UP TO"

"Paying for 100 Mbps. Getting 23 Mbps. Support says 'up to 200 Mbps.' By that logic, I'm paying up to £0."

Re: Retention Gymnastics

Happened to me recently. My bill was £38pm and due for renewal so I said rang up and during the conversation they said it was going up to £42pm.  I kicked off because new customers were getting a deal £20 less why can't existing get similat deals, I mentioned "loyalty" etc they went away and came back and said they'd got me £5 off.  That's £5 off my new price not my old/existing price of £42pm meaning it would have been discounted to £37pm. 1 whole pound lower than the £38 I was currently paying.

I said no and that I was off to BT because they would offer me a miles better deal as a new customer. A bit more back and forth on the call then I waas transferred to a diff person. The 4th diff person in a single call!  Explained it all to him, he put me on hold for a few minutes, came back with a new customr type deal and saved me £12pm off my original £38pm.  I was on the phone for over an hour in total and after we agreed the new contract I said to the guy why do we have to do this each time and why not just give existing customers the best deals right from the off and save everyone the time and hassle. He just laughed and said "yeah I know", so Sky employees must know it's a farce and Sky should be going all out to want to retain customers so seriously why all the nonsense!

Re: Retention Gymnastics

Ha ha me too - they offered me to pay more than my increased price !  That's a great offer - why on earth would that be of interest ?  He then recalculated and came up with £1 less - when I asked him to explain he hung up - RUDE!
