Refund For Broadband But Not TV Package?

Hi,

I cancelled my broadband and TV package with an end date of 9th October 2023, my last direct debit was paid 23rd September 2023. I then received a refund for cancellation of broadband but nothing from the TV package side, I have just called Sky today and I was told you only receive a refund for the broadband and one wouldn't be issued for the TV subscription cancellation.

My final bill was for £84 which was £6 less than what I would normally pay for the full month but sure this amount still covers me upto 23rd October therefore if my subscription ends 9th October I should receive a partial refund?

I hope that makes sense and was the advisor correct is saying that they only provide refunds for the broadband cancellations?

Many thanks for your help,

Kul.

If Sky charge you beyond the date your TV service terminates,  then yes, they'll refund the overpayment.

It all depends on the dates and timings.

You have to give a longer notice period (31 days) compared with broadband (14 days).

Billing is completely pro-rata so if you did pay any TV subs past your cessation date then a credit would be generated.

I guess you didn't so there's nothing due?  Look at itemised billing for the dates paid/credited.

Re: Refund For Broadband But Not TV Package?

The payment was on 23rd September which was before the subscription ended on the 9th October. I thought I had read that you pay in advance of the month so September's payment would cover me until 23rd October so if I only receive services up until 9th October then I assumed I would receive a refund like I did with the broadband as it was all done on same dates etc?

Thanks again.

Thank you for the responses, I guess it was wishful thinking for the refund.

I appreciate the time you have taken to reply.

Have a good day,

Yes so the period after 9th October that you have already paid for should be refunded (i.e credited to your account).

Ant credit is typically refunded via your usual payment method about 4-6 weeks later i believe
