Pre paid bills

Every month on my pay day I pre pay all my bills. For the past 2 months this date has been close to my direct debit date. I couldn't understand why it stated my January bill was outstanding, I just put it down to movies  being bought over Christmas. It wasn't until yesterday after receiving a msg to say my direct debit had failed that I searched my transactions and there is no record of sky payments but I know I paid it last Friday and the previous month and in both occasions I had that amount back in my account. Why is this happening? I pay all my bill every 4 weeks and Sky are the only ones to do this?

Because you shouldn't manually pay.  Let the automated collection take the outstanding amount as making manual payments doesn't always work as you'd like.

@jimjam2001

The totally unnecessary manual payments are going towards the following months bill so should be showing as a credit on your Sky account. The T's and C's you read and agreed to state you should have a direct debit or continuous card payment in place so leave that to do its job.
