i have received several phones calls on the same matter from various mobile phone numbers with indian speakers on a poor a line
i stupidly gave one one my email so they could send me a "verification email" which they send from a rather convincing email account
they then asked for my password to my sky app so i hung up
after i ended the call they then messaged me on whatsapp
they seem to operate under so many numbers i hope sky cracks down on this

They're just another scammer using Sky's name. As noted above there's nothing Sky can do to crack down on them, any more than anyone else can. They're doubtless operating from another country and even if the authorities here could liaise with the authorities there to confront them, they would simply start up again under a new guise.

Any tips on how to sort this as I get a phone call everyday from these scammers with a 07359 number banging on about 30 or 40% discount and when I say I'm not interested or swear for them to go away they still call back the next day?... they don't seem to leave me alone and it's getting annoying

@caesarome @I've tried but they seem to call on a new number the next day it's so weird I've never had a scammer this persistent especially with how I don't even stay on the phone for more then a minute before hanging up

That's typically what a scammer will do - they just 'spoof' the number, to evade call blockers. If,you have a Sky landline you can use the call screening feature of the Sky Talk Shield to intercept unknown numbers. For non-Sky landlines, if these calls are really bugging you, you can buy a phone with Trucall built in which does a similar thing

Still regularly getting these scammer calls, they are obviously from a call center (background noise) helps that my caller id now alerts as possible scam (always report)
Always an Asian accent and claiming a 40% discount "Really!!!!"

Hello, I just received the same call from the number
(removed)
and was passed through to a supervisor for getting the promotion- I knew this was not genuine as nobody speaks to a supervisor this day and age lol. But I wanted to see where this was going. He asked for my email and I said actually let me confirm with sky. He said no worries.
Moderator note: Removed phone number.

I've just had them on (they have been calling from what looks like a UK based office number). Wasn't aware of the scam and unfortunately gave them some details until I realised what was happening and challenged them. Have changed my Sky account email and password straight away so hoping it has been enough to mitigate the damage. Feel foolish.. 🤬

You might want to give some thought to using 2 step verification so that each time you login a text with a code on is sent to your phone. If you do enable this then make sure you make a record of the recovery code as that will be needed to turn this off (should you wish to change the phone number the code goes to).

It might also be worth checking some of the settings on your account.
Login to your online account:
https://skyid.sky.com/signin/email/
Go to Settings > More Settings > Filters and remove anything that you did not setup.
Then go to Settings > More Settings > Mailboxes > Your email address > Reply-to address
And again remove anything here that you did not setup.

The key thing to look for is the delivery of unexpected hardware (typically one or more Sky Mobile iPhones) with an accompanying request to return these to a different address to 'rectify the mistake'.
Obviously don't do that...

Just received this call. Told them that deal sounds amazing but I'm leaving for work now and I'll call sky later to follow up. He replied tell me when you're free and I'll call you back personally. Desperate much

Good luck saying stuff like that doesn't work as they then won't leave you alone now and you will now get 1-4 calls a day everyday from different numbers so you can't even block a specific one I had to change phone number completely to get it to stop. It's a pain in the **bleep** lol

Yeh i know they're like like. Just fishing for a reaction. I haven't heard from them again. If I do I'll just pop my phone next to my sound bar. Let them waste their time
