Payment method change

I have change dmy method of payment from my credit card to my debit card as my credit card is no longer available (its been cancelled as its all cleared) yet the website states that payment for this iteration will still be attempted to be taken out of  the credit card, how about no and take the money out of my direct debit like I would like, what do I do ?

Per the website: 

Changing from credit card to Direct Debit

  • On payment due date: Payment will be taken from your original payment details. The new details will be used on future payment due dates.
  • 1-13 days before your payment due date: We'll take payment using your new details 14 days from the date of change. There's no change to the amount collected and the next payment will be on the current payment due date.
  • 14 or more days before your payment due date: We'll take payment using your new details on the payment due date as normal.
