Paying bill with account credit

So my bill was due on 24/01/23. Nothing had been taken out of my account via direct debit.

So I made a payment on the app and my now account is in £22 credit. But Sky are now trying to take it out of my bank account via direct debit.

how do I either pay with my account credit? Or withdraw that credit and then just make another payment

As you have a direct debit set up you should never need to make a payment as you have done even if it is a few days late as this can happen sometimes. What will happen now is a credit will appear on your account for the amount you have overpaid and this will be used to pay your next bill so on that bill no money will be taken from your account. If you want the overpayment returned you will need to contact Sky, the repayment will take 3-5 business days.

You can not stop Sky from taking it via the direct debit which is why after this happens it will be shown as a credit.
