Ordered superfast broadband, turns out I can't get it.
Hi all,
I've venetian with Sky for a few years and my contract for broadband ran out. They offered me a new deal, upgrading my broadband to superfast 150mbs + sky stream for £26 per month.
I took this offer because I was pleased with it. Today, the open reach engineer arrived at my house and after having a look around unfortunately informed me he wouldn't be able to put the cable required for superfast into my house due to how the building is made. He also mentioned that this happened to someone else around the corner from me.
So where do I go from here? He said sky will contact me within 48 hours. Will I just return to my old broadband contract?

I wouldn't rely on Sky calling you as the Openreach engineer suggested. You perhaps need to be proactive and call Sky to discuss your options.

Re: Ordered superfast broadband, turns out I can't get it.
For clarity when dealing with the call centre, 150Mbs has historically been marketed by ISPs as an 'Ultrafast' speed band.
The situation is somewhat confusing because Ofcom defines Superfast as 30-300Mbs while Openreach says Ultrafast begins at 80Mbs.
