As you are moving to Sky which is part of the Openreach network then Sky can not advise Virgin that you are leaving them as they are not part of the Openreach network as they own their own lines. What you need to do is to call Virgin again on the day your line with Sky goes live so they can cancel and then refund you any overpayment.

Re: New customer query disconnetion old supplier
@Shezlian did you get a letter from Virgin noting that you're thinking of switching to Sky? If so, Virgin should cancel your service with them on the day of the switch.

Re: New customer query disconnetion old supplier
It seems the OTS isn't fully working yet and providers have fallen back to GPL (for which VM do not participate).
As noted, it may not be possible for Sky to give notive to VM currently. You need to contact them directly to cancel.

Just tell them you want to cancel because if you are not in a contract with them then can must act upon your instructions.

As per my previous post there's a chance they won't receive a disconnection notice. As stated by @caesarome give your own notice and don't rely on someone else (not) doing it...
