Just gone through the best part of 3 hours to negotiate a new 24 month TV and Broadband deal. Started off using Messages until that crashed and ended up on the phone.
Past to various departments giving different deals, when I threatened to leave got through to Cancellations and agreed a deal. I was prepared to leave Sky, so wasn't an empty threat, as I realised I may have to and had already been offered a great Broadband deal with Vodafone.
I had a monthly amount I was prepared to pay for Sky, which I felt was fair. I told Cancellations the amount, and they eventually worked out a deal.
There appears to be a limited deals to be done with Broadband, I got a discount but it was still not as competitive as Vodafone. However they were able to able to give various discounts to the TV package to get the total price down.
Why do loyal Sky customers have to go through this farce every time their contract is up? Why not offer a loyalty discount based on the number of years you have been with Sky to retain customers?

Because plenty of people just pay whatever Sky ask so from a business point of view it wouldn't make sense to just automatically give everyone a discount..

Remember Sky are not obliged to offer you another discount, and recent posts on here indicate that significant discounts are now harder to come by. Most providers do this now and don't forget the Vodafone deal you saw was a new customer offer.
