Name change by Deed poll

So had a name change via deed poll, it says on the Sky page that with proof my name can be changed, however when I called the call centre they said there is no way this can happen, isn't that against data rules.

 

Or do I need to eait and call the ROI call centre on Monday.

Call again and perhaps you'll get an agent that will process the name change: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/change-the-name-on-a-sky-account

Yeah I told her about that page and she was quite insistant no one would be able to help me change my name, had to stay the same intital as the one I'd registered with. 

If that's not correct someone needs to pass that along to the Call Centre.

I see you aren't staff though, so thank you for the suggestion, but I will wait and see if someone affiliated fully with Sky responds.

AFAIK the forum staff can no longer process name changes so they are unlikely to reply.

 

As I said, call again (perhaps another day) and you'll get an agent that will process the change.

 

You are correct you have a right of data correction under GDPR but should be no need to go there...

Yeah, er, ok.  I suspect they thought you were trying to transfer the account to someone else (which you can't do).
