Mis Sold Renewal

I called last Monday with an intent to cancel Netflix.  As a part of the call, the advisor went into Sales mode said she could sort out cheaper broadband and TNT Sports.

After finding out I wasn't in contract with my previous supplier, I was quoted £111 a month for

150MB broadband/basic phoneline (not needing the phoning but was told I had to have it).

Sky Sports, Cinema, Signature, TNT Sports - all in UHD/HDR/Atmos etc on Sky Q box

Sky Mini Box for the bedroom.

£111 a month would save me £14 ish a month so I agreed to a new 2 yr contract at this price.  I even called again to confirm the £111 price as account activity showed something different but was reassured that £111 would be the price.

Well the bill today went from £95 to £143 and future bills aren't £111 - they're £120.50!!

Unsurprisingly I'm not a happy bunny so called again and was advised last wee I would receive a call back for after 12pm yesterday, after the sales call had been listened to.

No call back has been received.

I am currently on my 8th day of the 14 permitted re cancellation the new services and all I'm thinking here is I've been mis sold a product & all Sky is waiting for is the 14 day cancellation period to expire.  [removed]

Please can someone from Sky get in touch before I cancel this recently installed upgrade?

Regards

Mis Sold Sky Renewal

My last message was deleted so I'll be brief.

Please can someone from Sky contact me as I have been mis sold a renewal I placed a week ago yesterday.  I was quoted £111 a month for said deal and it's still showing as £120.50.  I was meant to receive a call back yesterday but didn't.

Thank you.

@Slashed1975 No one will call you based on you posting here, the community is mainly a customer to customer support platform, the few Sky staff here will be unable to assist as the escalation process here has been offline for a few months with no timescale for it's return.

If you haven't had the promised callback then you will have to be proactive and call Sky yourself.

Additionally, no one will / can phone you. Your Community tag name isn't linked to any Sky accounts you have so no one knows who you are.

Re: Mis Sold Sky Renewal

I thought someone from Sky would have DM'd me on here to investigate what I had said after DPA etc had been done.

Oh well.  Looks like I'll be cancelling because customer service is literally non existent.

Hi @Slashed1975   The catch 22 is you will have to contact Sky to cancel. Please see Welcome below for information about this community forum.

No, that's not how the Community works.

@Slashed1975

You might want to put in a complaint giving the date and time you spoke to Sky:

Re: Mis Sold Renewal

@Slashed1975 if you are not happy with the price you are going to pay, I would suggest you cancel within the 14 day period, or else you are locked in for the contract period.

If you do cancel, and for the future, I would suggest that you deal with companies that you can do everything online. I suspect you could have removed Netflix without calling Sky viz. using the MySky app.

I refuse to make financial decisions over the phone. I like to see things in writing so I can crunch the numbers and have time to think it through.  I have left Sky Stream for Now TV based on price, short contracts and everything with Now TV can be done via the website. Currently I have Sports on Now TV, Ultra Boost (4 simultaneous streams in 4K UHD) for £26 pm.

Sky Stream (ending 11 Nov 2025)
Now TV Sports Ultra Boost @ £26 pm (till Feb 2026)
1000/115 FTTP (Aquiss) to Zyxel DX3301
3 x Asus XT9s + 2 x RT-AC58U V3 for WiFi (AP mode)
65" Samsung S92C OLED TV
C430 Samsung soundbar with subwoofer
6 other streaming TVs
43+ network connected devices

You need to update your forum signature in that case.
