Matching offer from Virgin Media
Hello,
I have a been with sky for 10 years now. I just had to renew my contract (have to this every 2 years), I paid the full price for 2 months as I didn't realise (my fault).
For the same price (or close) around £50 a month, Virgin Media offers a similar deal for the broadbankd but also includes Sky sport (ironically).
Is there a way that Sky can match this offer? Or do I just leave and change to Virgin,
any advice?
Thanks in advance

Re: Matching offer from Virgin Media
Hi @Nick314 As an existing customer, Sky will not offer you lost leading pricing to attract you as a customer like Virgin.

Re: Matching offer from Virgin Media
Thank you for your answer,
So would you advise to leave sky, join Virgin and re-join Sky two years later?
Thanks again.

If virgin are only have Sky sports with there broadband, then no Sky can not match that offer has with Sky you can not a tv subscription that only includes Sky ports you have to take a entertainment subscription as well.

Re: Matching offer from Virgin Media
Go with Virgin for two years but after that their prices become outrageously expensive compared to Sky.
Here's VM's terms for the Sports/broadband package:
Sport: New customers only. Mega TV Sky Sports HD, M500 Fibre Broadband (average download speed 516Mbps). Currently £52.99* a month for 24 months. 24 month minimum term. Alternative broadband speeds available, prices vary depending on speed chosen. Home Phone can be added from an extra £8 per month. Standard monthly pricing (currently £151* a month) applies from month 25.

Dependant on your entertainment needs, don't forget Now TV for standalone Sky Sports.

Re: Matching offer from Virgin Media
@Nick314 it's very much the way of things, that said I've always managed to bring my prices in with Sky when I've had to renew. The last two attempts where some what long winded, but got there in the end.
Previously I was with VirginMedia, their broadband was always solid to be fair, it was the TV side that was lacking. Times have changed and Sky no longer have the corner on the market, so dip your toe in and give it a try.

Re: Matching offer from Virgin Media
Thank you all for your help and advice,
@NickNewark, I am glad it worked for you, I called and sadly they cannot (or do not want to) match the offer from Virgin and do not want to offer me the same deal as new custumer.
I wish there was a provider who would could keep the price fixed forver (modula inflation increase) and/or reward loyal costumer - not a new debate, I am sure.
Anyway, thanks a lot everyone for help and advice
