When I joined sky I added mutv and was under the impression it was - is a stand alone channel - today I've gone to get it taken of my account and they are saying as i took it out when I renewed the contract they are now going to charge me £12 to remove the channel since when did we start paying to remove channels ?

I enquired about cancelling my sky subscription and was - am willing to pay to get out of it as and then nan said I couldn't until my contract runs out ? I've seen there is a in charge contract payment to get out so why am I not being offered this

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIs this a TV subscription? The latest T’s and C’s explicitly state you can’t cancel when still in a minimum term deal unless Sky agree. If they agree you’ll have to pay the remainder of your discounted term.

Find out moreSky are within their rights to not let you cancel as you will have agreed to keep whatever service this involves for a set period of time so the minimum term on your contract which can be up to 24 months. After which you can cancel by giving the required notice of 31 days for TV and 14 days for Broadband and Talk.

Is it an early termination charge? If not, there is a provision in the contract for removing premium channels.
