Long term IP member means nothing

Cancelled after 22 years, was offered £141 a month against monthly out of contract costs of circa £2k per annum. Received offer post cancellation by email and post which was an improvement on the £141, call up and they won't look at it without reversing cancellation, which I do. I speak to a member of the rentions team who says leave it with me should be able to better your previous offer. After a few days with one missed call I call back, latest offer is £161, no reference to email/post offer. It's a joke and is hugely misleading. I will complain and think I have to cancel, don't want to leave but being treated like dirt!

@Russell49 realistically Sky aren't obliged to offer you any discount at all, and meaningful discounts are certainly harder to find. But it's still worth a complaint, in the hope that they come up with something more attractive. Failing that a better offer might come out of the woodwork, if you go ahead and cancel.

Never mind will see what BT or EE are like. Frustrating as happy to stay at a much higher cost than a new member but not when they are completely taking the ....

BT or EE are likely, to offer you a much better price as a new customer than Sky will as an existing customer.

Clearly in 18-24 months time, if you switch, you'll be in exactly the same position, and Sky will more than likely be able to undercut your current provider.

It's just the way the business operates I'm afraid.
