Leaving sky
I have been a loyal customer of Sky for years but last few weeks I keep getting this channel is not available on live and recorded programmes. After talking to Sky for about 45 minutes each time I was offered an engineer visit and twice a differen engineer came the second time he said he would monitor it and let us know which he didn't. I finally decided to change provider and contacted Virgin Media who gave me good deal which I accepted. Tthe customer service lady did not try to persuade me to stay with Sky. I am paid up in advance but when I got home all services were withdrawn . I am disgusted with Sky and know I'll lose my favourite medium service

Re: Leaving sky
@Min2 Sorry to read of your experience and nothing I write can change that.
A couple of observations.
(1) what service did you have... Stream, Q, Glass, other? Possibly a post here might have lead to a resolution.
(2) loyalty (IMHO) is overrated and misunderstood by many customers eg loyal customers thinking they should get same subscription prices as those being offered to new customers or believing Sky will bend over backwards to retain loyal customers.
(3) receiving the service you pay for is a minimum expectation and for whatever reason you were not. I don't blame you for leaving, but you will get over Sky.
Best of luck with Virgin.

When you say it was all off when you got home, did you go into one of these pop up Sky shops to cancel? Was that including broadband as I don't think VM do deals without including broadband?
You (or perhaps they) should have used the one touch switch (OTS) system which would have only turned off your services when VM went live. You make it sound as if everything was immediately cancelled down which is not how Sky do things normally, Even out of minimum term there's always a notice period of some sort.
I would double check your bills online and perhaps call them as if they have just instantly shut down the services then you should be due a credit refund.
