Have you actually cancelled your Sky broadband?

Virgin may not have been able to give Sky such notice.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own

@Charlie124 This is not live chat, responses are from fellow customers, and they will only respond if they have the time to do so.

The charge from Sky will have stated what it is for and if you wish to discuss it with them you will have to call.

Re: Leaving sky tv broadband

The broadband element may have successfully transferred, however you can only cancel the TV service when out of contract and by giving the required notice.

@Charlie124 were you still in contract for TV?

What do the emails and other communication from September say?

In any event, bring a pensioner is not relevant and you'll need to contact whoever is chasing the debt directly.

@Charlie124

As @martswain indicates, the situation for a Sky to Virgin move isn't straightforward because while broadband is covered by the national one-touch-switch system, subscription television is not.  This means Sky will continue to charge for television even after broadband service is transferred and Virgin begins providing their own television service over cable (and it's not the responsibility of either Sky or Virgin to resolve this: that's up to the customer and Sky may well not permit early exit)
