Irritating Calls

Can someone explain why I keep getting calls to offer me deals on my account and expect me to share y password with them? Its now twice this has happened, each time when I have said I am not sharing it, they simply hang up.  Rude, time wasting and highly irritating.  I did check on Google whether this is routine practive and the guidance is not to share and report the number to SKY's 0800 number.  That was the number calling me asking for password information!!

@Mike0858

Sky will always ask for your telephone password to verify you're the account holder.

Any number can be spoofed by cunning scammers.

With any calls from 'Sky' (especially unexpected calls) if the caller asks for your previously agreed telephone password to confirm you're the account holder (which I would expect a genuine Sky agent to do) initially give an INCORRECT one on purpose. If the caller doesn't challenge it then you know it'll be a scam call.

Hi @Mike0858   Genuine calls from Sky will ask you for your telephone password. This is different to your account password. However it does sound like scammers. https://www.sky.com/help/articles/account-takeover It is a waste of time looking up the number, as professional criminals simply spoof Sky's number.

It doesn't sound as though that's actually Sky calling you.
