Increase in price, too much

I was a Virgin customer, prices were high, then I changed to Sky because of a good deal, Broadband and TV, and now I received a letter with increase in prices, which means from £47.50 I was paying, it goes up to £69.00, this is an increase of £21,50, and this was after I rang them and the lady gave me the best price.  I cannot afford this, she said she will pass it and they will contact me, but at the same time it was the best price she could offer me.  I sent messages on the virtual chat (which is impossible and annoying) and I have not got answers yet.

I am already exploring other options but I would expect SKY to answer me with some better deals.  I hope this messages goes somewhere.  Thank you in advanced.

Yup, just to other customers...

You'll need to persevere in contacting Sky to negotiate/cancel.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

@chantaliz

Not necessarily.

Significant discounts are harder to come by these days so if you’re offered something acceptable be prepared to agree to it there and then because if you decide to think about it the offer is unlikely to be available when you call back. Also remember you’re not a new customer so don’t expect anything close to a new customer deal.

If you decide it’s no longer value for money and you’re thinking of changing providers remember that in 18/24 months time you'll be in the same position with that company at which point you'll be able to return to Sky and benefit from the new customer discounts available at that particular time.

Re: Increase in price, too much

I agree Sky has become too expensive.  I have been with Sky Broadband for many years and currently on a 150 Mbps connection for about £30 per month.  This will go up to £49 per month once my contract ends, or £40 per month on a 24 month contract.  Meanwhile, Hyperoptic offers a 150 Mbps connection for £0/month for three months, then £19/month, £22/month from April 2026, and £25/month from April 2027.

@Jereon+Keppens

Those quoted prices are for new customers. You aren't a new customer of Skys so comparing them is irrelevant.
