I'm done with Sky's insulting "offers".

To start off I just want to say while I did voice my disapointment to the agent on the phone I made it clear I didn't hold him accountable, raise my voice or insult him in any way and I would never condone anyone doing so.

I've heard the storys before, the same as everyone else but I have finally experienced it for myself, after my bills rising over and over again I decided to see what options were available on the sky site and then called up to make some changes.  I was greeeted by a very friendly agent that thanked me for being such a loyal VIP customer at 19 years and 11 months (forboding), I currently have SkyQ with 2 mini boxes, UHD, sky sports, movies, netflix premium and disney+ for £118 a month and we don't use it fully so wanted to downsize our package and move over to stream, the first annoyance was the agent repeatedly trying to sell me Glass despite every single time telling him I know what it is and don't want it but the real insult came when I told him the package I was interested in which was Stream Ultimate + sports and then add UHD and whole home for a total of £60 a month + the upfront cost of pucks only to be told that this was a new customer only deal and that it would cost me £110 a month?!

I find the whole situation so incredibly insulting, to have the call answered with thanks for being such a loyal and valued customer and then to be told that I will be charged almost double the amount that a new customer would, what upsets me even more is that I am seriously considering moving over to virgin.

@Sparkyben

Better discounts are offered to new customers (by most if not all providers) as an incentive for them to join.

If you choose to jump ship and go with another provider then in 18/24 months you'll be in the same position with that provider and if you want you'll be able to return to Sky as a new customer.
