How to activate Sky Sports FREE trial?

Hi, 

When I login to my account online I have a offer of  'Sky Sports FREE trial for 4 weeks'. However, when I click the link it says theres nothing in my basket, please continue?

Any help how to take up this offer? Thanks

If you are having trouble applying the offer online i'd suggest giving Sky a call and an advisor should be able to add it for you

Don't forget that if you want to cancel it after the 4 weeks then usually you have to give 31 days notice so you would need to do this when asking Sky to activate it for you.

Interesting as I have had exactly the same experience. I called Sky today and am told there is no such offer available. It is a technical problem and shouldn't be there. I've raised a complaint with the ombudsman. Very unprofessional on Skys behalf.

Did you do this after getting a deadlock letter from Sky ?

Both myself and my mother have this offer clearly displayed on the Sky VIP  app but Sky claim it doesn't exist. It's been there for at least three months, maybe more.

It's still there even now as I just tried to claim it and then it disappeared in the basket

The offer is certainly messed up as I took it on 29/04/2026 except that instead of the expected 4 weeks, it gave it me for 2 calendar months and showed future prices beyond the 2 months as full price with the Sports HD separate charge being discounted for years.

According to the agent I queried this with I should have received a text or email asking if I wanted to opt into the 6 months at £20 at the end of the first month. I never got that but future bills did change to reflect a £20pcm charge with the Sports HD free and now tied into the same 6 month discount period. I had no intention of taking it up anyway and I phoned on 30/05/2026 to cancel it. It was a short and sweet call with no attempt to keep me and no upselling.

Oddly chat had disappeared as an option for some reason despite trying again later so I had to call. Is it broken at the moment? I know it's only available at certain times of the day, but this was well into it's open times, or is it cynical to suggest that they'd rather you call and the system checked my contract dates so had an inkling about what I was calling for? The wife has just started watching Person of Interest again so perhaps it's made me a little paranoid 😇

Damn it Sky, just checked my most recent bill (01/06/2026) and it's already charged me £3.80 total for 3 days and next months bill is showing as the £20 charge minus a few days discount (£15.98 due). So it never was 2 months after all, it was just 4 weeks. Here we go again.
