Has anybody had a call from the official Sky number offering a cinema trial?

Hi,

I got a call which came up as "Sky" on my phone, the number is apparently a legit number according to Google. The lady told me I have been a loyal customer and they wanted to offer me something once I had confirmed my details. It felt like a scam to me at first but she could tell me a lot about my account to convince me it was legit (what was included, how long I have been signed up) so I answered ones that weren't about my bank details. I did have to answer about three questions. The third one was initially about the last 4 digits of my card and thats when I asked why are there so many questions to verify my account and she said it was an OFCOM requirement and asked me an alternative one.

She then offered me 2 months Sky Cinema as a trial that would be cancelled automatically at the end. She felt very pushy and when I asked her if she could email me the details (as I still felt uncomfortable) with the whole situation she basically said "no what we'll do is sign you up and you'll get an email after the trial asking for feedback". I told her I don't even know if I want it yet and asked again for email. She then seemed put out and said fine she will try and email it. This was about 5 minutes ago, not sure if I will get an email or not.

Has anybody else had this? Is it scam (I know some scammers can put fake numbers on) or does Sky have very pushy call handlers? I did not feel like a customer, more like I was being hustled.

From Skys own website

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/received-call-from-08007613372

Of course any number can be spoofed.

Also note these trials do NOTcancel automatically. The customer has to contact Sky to cancel giving the usual 31 days notice.

Thank you, the number plus the knowledge of my services swayed me towards it being legit.

Its crazy the type of call though, literally feels like you're being pressured into something.

Hi @RG95  Or, your account has already been compromised ... I would change your password if there is any doubt.

I would put good money on it not being automatically cancelled at the end of the two months.

I had one on 20th April 2026. The number was not identified as a sky number, The caller then said they wanted to do a check to see if they could save me some money on m subscription [always a good way in] thn started asking me questions which I wasn't happy with so I ended the call.
