Getting too expensive

The bills are getting too high . They are planning removing my free netflix and charging my 10.99 a month . This is ridiculous. The skyQ box keeps failing and it takes ages to reconnect . I'm seriously thinking of leaving

31 days notice is required to give Sky to cancel and when you return the equipment make sure you get and keep the proof of posting receipt.

Netflix has never been 'free' through Sky: it's why Ultimate TV costs more than Signature.

£10.99 is the cost to upgrade bundled Netflix 'Standard with Adverts' (two screens / HD) to Netflix 'Premium' (four screens / UHD)

Previous Netflix tiers such as 'Basic' and their associated upgrades no longer exist, and customers are migrated automatically at the end of the relevant minimum contract term.

Re: Getting too expensive

@Jgroves1210 I assume broadband is included in your £138 monthly bill, if not 😱

Sky TV is great to have but it isn't a  necessity or utility. There are alternatives eg streaming devices,  freesat box.

I am also leaving Sky Stream for Now TV when my contract ends, as it is cheaper and I don't like long contracts.

I subscribe to 1 streaming service per month (eg Netflix, Prime, Apple tv et al) to  binge watch a full series, then switch.

In fact the only streaming service I keep ongoing is YouTube Premium.

Sky Stream (ending 11 Nov 2025)
Now TV Sports Ultra Boost @ £26 pm (till Feb 2026)
1000/115 FTTP (Aquiss) to Zyxel DX3301
3 x Asus XT9s + 2 x RT-AC58U V3 for WiFi (AP mode)
65" Samsung S92C OLED TV
C430 Samsung soundbar with subwoofer
6 other streaming TVs
43+ network connected devices

Re: Getting too expensive

Actually 2 yrs ago you got netflix free if you had sky cinema that's one of the reasons we went with them also paramount.

I do know what I signed my contract as thank you for your input tho
